We have been putting off getting Chloe's first hair cut....I'll be honest, it's just too painful to think about it. We don't want to lose her curls :) So, I bought a couple barrets to put in her hair. At first everything was okay.....

Pretty soon though, she started getting a little bit annoyed....
And the barrets lasted less than one minute.....
maybe we'll try pig tails :)

Wow, time flies!

Our little monkey now

Just a couple of our summer activities: Swimming and Biking!

Hi Everyone! So, it's been an increadibly long time (like 10 months) since I've updated this blog....what can I say....life is BUSY! We have a little walking, talking, toddler all of a sudden. Here is a recent email I sent as an update to my parents in Scotland to give you an idea of where things are at now.....

Chloe is having a super fun time, and the big development this week is that she learned how to say "yes"! After a few weeks of the answer to every question being "no", it's a relief. Now, when you ask her a question, she can give an exuberant "yes" or "no". You can also reason with her much more, and she understands that she needs to do something in order to get what she wants (i.e. get dressed in order to go to the park). She is getting to be lots of fun and super interactive. She loves to colour at her little table, "bath" her baby, "wipe" her baby, and sit her baby at the table to watch her colour! This fall, Chloe and I are joining a playgroup, and she and Sean are signing up for music and movement lessons.

Oh, the other really cute thing this week is that she can say some animal sounds. She knows the sounds for horse, cow and monkey. Soooo cute. We went to a festival this weekend where there were some horses, and she LOVED them. She got to pet one of them and it was the highlight of her day.

Anyways, I will try to keep the updates more frequent from now on!

Halloween and other fun times!

For Halloween, Chloe dressed up as a butterfly.
We tried to take her around to some of the neighboors, but it was so early that no one was home :(

I did a funky pumpkin carving this year....

Oliver and Chloe with the pumpkin

Chloe was very interested in the pumpkin

Chloe and Oliver "playing" together....as long as each of them sticks to their own toys, it's all good.

Grandma, mommy and Chloe have been doing some baking. Chloe gets really excited about the wooden spoon.

Partners in Crime?

Chloe's uncle Brendan sent us some shots that he had taken of her in September. Look what turned up....

Curious George!

He also sent us this picture, which I absolutely love!

Lots of Firsts in the fall!

We've been busy this fall, but haven't been able to post anything because our camera cord was misplaced. So, here is what Chloe has been up to the last month or so.....

6 month picture with the bear....

Still no teeth, but she's discovered that toes make excellent teething toys.

We had a visit with GREAT grandpa! She thought he was GREAT!

She loves to play with Oliver now. She can be in the grumpiest mood ever, and the minute he pays attention to her, all is wonderful in the world - she giggles so hard!

Chloe had her first trip to the park, and she LOVED the swing the best.

Chloe also had fun with mommy on the slide....oops, Daddy makes the ride look more exciting!

Chloe had her first taste of rice cereal on Thanksgiving Day (with her cute little bib from Great Aunt Karen). We think she liked it (the cereal and the bib!).

She is learning how to sit up on her own, and is pretty much independent now...with the occasional topple!

We did some apple-picking, and to get into the spirit, Chloe wore her apple hat.

All in all, a busy month!

Look out! I'm a fish!!

Chloe had her first swimming lesson today, and she LOVED it! She wouldn't stop trying to eat the water. She was the youngest one there, but I think she was the most excited! She also had an entourage of Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Brendan and Mommy, all taking pictures - we're not excited or anything!

Here is some video of our little fish......

Kick Kick Kick!

Trying to eat the floaty board!

We had a fun time :)

Visit from Grandma and Grandpa!

Chloe had a visit from Grandma and Grandpa this week, and they took lots of pictures!

They brought her a nice big bib to catch all her spit-ups from the Gaspe....
